What is Peer Support?
• Giving and receiving help with mutuality and respect.

• Understanding through the personal experience of "having been there".

• Sharing personal experiences of hope and recovery.

• Encouraging each person's uniqueness.

• Focusing on each person's strengths.

• Kings View went on to create and design with the help of consumers from the community a welcoming “place” for members  to thrive in their wellness and recovery.

• May 2008 we were able to move into what was called the “mini center.” activities and support groups were developed and began .

• May 2009 Blue Sky celebrated its grand opening. Launching a facility and service expansion.

• Currently we facilitate 23 groups  and 12 activities per week.

• The quality of Blue Sky Wellness Center’s programs and activities continue to improve through the feedback and suggestions of our community of consumers who participate in the Peer Advisory Council (PAC).

Wellness & Recovery
Wellness & Recovery is a model that believes persons with mental health challenges can recover. Mutual support and personal effort to develop wellness lifestyle changes can create a “Culture of Wellness” within the mental health community.
